Glossary
ARPU
ARPU means average revenue per user. For public market reads, it is best used directionally because active-user counts are rarely visible.
Appdex example
Appdex uses revenue and download ranges to approximate monetization strength without pretending to know every active user count.
How to read it
In Appdex, ARPU is useful when reading an app page, a category hub, a direct comparison and a benchmark guide together. Do not read the term as a standalone score. Compare it with rpi, mrr, confidence band, monthly downloads, monthly revenue range, rating depth, category median and recent growth momentum before deciding whether an app is a leader, a niche opportunity or simply a large but weakly monetized product.
