Glossary
Confidence band
A confidence band is the low-to-high range around an estimate. Wider bands mean the estimate should be treated more cautiously.
Appdex example
An app at $80k-$100k/month is easier to compare than an app at $30k-$220k/month, even if both appear near the same midpoint.
How to read it
In Appdex, Confidence band is useful when reading an app page, a category hub, a direct comparison and a benchmark guide together. Do not read the term as a standalone score. Compare it with mrr, rpi, velocity, monthly downloads, monthly revenue range, rating depth, category median and recent growth momentum before deciding whether an app is a leader, a niche opportunity or simply a large but weakly monetized product.
